After taking the Titan X 12.5 on it’s maiden here’s a couple thoughts:
- WOW
- Paddled through vegetation, no issue. Didn’t have to struggle like in the old town 106MK

- this is my third kayak and first one I stood up in. Note I’m 75 but felt very comfortable
- it did hold water under set (water came in when some boaters didn’t slow). When got home found 2 suppers under set track. Will take plugs out for next trip.
- the spring rutter would not deploy. It was me, I put my soft pack cooler on it . Got home took cooler out and bingo it worked. Might want to share that with listeners.
- LOVE the seat 💯, the drawer.

- it is heavy on land - but in the water it ROCKS 😎👍

Keep the videos coming.

Thanks for all you do

Joe

Thanks for your videos on the Titan X. I just picked mine up. Can't wait to get it on the water.

PFD those Yaks with 7" pool noodles, especially if you go off shore! They weigh nothing but offer crazy buoyancy.

Looks like you need a yak attack doubleheader. I always felt like included paddle holders and form in the kayak were for transporting the paddle with the kayak.

I LOVE this boat!!! I played around with a buddies and I just reserved mine. and I been in a hobie for 6 years. just power that thing through hydrilla….. screw it. Now there are some vegetation it has problems with….. i cant remember whatvits called…. Its the viney stuff with sparse leaves…. The vines dont break off. Like in hydrilla and milfoil and coontail and most vegetation, if it starts to bog down and wrap up the drive, you can back pedal a few times and power forward, and just keep doing that. (Obviously not in completely topped out stuff thats like dry land almost; there has to be some water over and between it) But the vine like stuff, when you back pedal to try and chop and clear the vegetation….. it doesnt chop it…. It just wraps worse. But the green stuff, just pedal til it bog, beck pedal real quick a couple times keep going.

Yeah you gotta trailer this boat…. Too heavy to drag or carry. Gotta have wheels or trailer. This is a plastic boat….. not a kayak. A plastic bass boat. Maybe not as much as the xtr 130 but the xtr doesnt have a pedal drive which is my only complaint in that design.

I been in a hobie for 6 years now, a pa-14. I love my hobie, don’t get me wrong. Im just not happy with hobie “new” pro angler. They still using same boat. Theyve made some innovations in the 360 drive etc, but they overpriced. Their competitors have come out with better yaks or compareable yaks with in hull storage horizontal rod storage (cuz that was a big thing i just could not do without) and better high seats on swivels, a more stable platform…… and better hull. I still have a 2019 hobie pa 14, and id rather have it than a new one. Once they started making them in mexico…., you started seeing all these issues with hull cracking. Everyone i know with newer one has had to get a new hull from cracking by seat.

They overpriced and poor quality than they used to be. Prove me wrong. Even the new 2025 where they supposedly made the hull better……. Already friends of mine, one who was the first person i knew to get a 2025 hobie with stronger hull……. Already cracked his. And the electronic ready just has a livescope mount nose plate which almost everyone has slready from secondhand market and motor mounts….which everyone who already had a hobie also already had. I mean the upgrades are not worth the price when kayaks half as expensive have better options. Prove me wrong. Unless u sponsored by hobie, they not worth it. You can’t keep one for longer than the hull warranty lasts because its going to crack at some point. They are going to have to build a new better platform thats cheaper or their sales will continue to fall. I think hobies heyday is over……unless they let me design the boat design i have made, lol. A few years back, for fun, at a tourney house, i drew up a plan for an ultimate fishing platform that was much like the bonafide xtr. The whole idea was a nose you could fish off of. But mine had in hull storage for like 12 rods, and several other things the bonafide doesnt, including a pedal drive.

Just found your channel. Thanks for the awesome review! I also have a pa14 but over the past two years I have been constantly wishing it had this or it had that. This seems like it will be the ticket for me as well. Both for bass fishing and for catfish and striper fishing. Thank you!

This is a great looking Kayak bro. Love the lines and the layout of this kayak. Im a smaller guy but love the bigger kayaks. This kayak will be in my history books one day. Till then Hobie pa 360 is the platform for me.

Exaclty what I was hoping you were gonna say! I cant stand waiting for my order to get in. Doesnt look like till springtime for me up here in the northern plains, Minnesota! I still have my trailer with the PVC bunks still on them that I used for my 2022 Hobie PA12 but I was told I should probably go back to the original carpeted 2x4 bunks.

Turn the rudder all the way to one side and it won't hit the ground before the back of the hull

You're steadily convincing me to buy this yak 😂

The TitanX is at the top of my list along with the PA12. I’m probably moving to Florida in the next year or so and I’m a bit worried I’ll be disappointed in the drive system in the hydrilla.

Show us if it bails out water. My old Titan I had would not bail out water and I had to keep a pump for those rough windy days

Now fully rig the kayak with motors front and rear, FF, all the batteries, poles, tackle and net, lunch and drinks.
Then tell us how it paddles.
My OT 120 PDL is a BARGE fully loaded for fishing..
Paddling is almost pointless and everything mounted to the rails is in the way.

Does the oar storage interfere with the sidekick wheel mount? I am a smaller person 5’5”, 160# and disabled and have trouble with loading my .outback! I like the 12’9” of my Outback but even have trouble loading it in the back of my truck! Not all of us have a garage to stair a trailer in! The weight of the Titan can be attributed to the thickness of the kayak itself (as my is understanding) but you probably are not going to have an issue of cracked scuppers or cracked hull at the seat mountings like some Hobie’s have. After seeing one at a dealer, I also have concerns about loading/unloading of the kayak on the keel and damaging the rudder blade! Otherwise a pretty good kayak that I would consider. The 10.5 is not practical as the battery compartment is not built for a 24v 50amp battery necessary for a NK180 pro or an NK300 with a 36v battery.

Rudder, you Say...? Just turn it sideways either way, and you won't even touch the ground/ramp when launching/retrieving your 'Yak (I added 4 inches to my Titan 10.5 rudder, and I have to do that every time I launch from my truck!).
Good Video, keep'em up.... I'm trying to talk myself into the Titan-X, as my Titan fully rigged is over 200 pounds now (3 batteries for the motor-Garmin-and running lights, 7 or 8 Bass rods, 8 Plano boxes, Plano plastic worm box, large hook/weight box, and an "extra-fishing line" box. And the Boondox wheel kit isn't light, either!). Lol.

Great info on the Titan X. I have mine on order and should get it in a couple weeks. I like the trailer setup. Can you do a video on your trailer set up?

Just picked up the Nucanoe unlimited, no regrets.

Also anyone using a fishing kayak should have self-bailing/self draining scupper plugs in 90%+ of the scuppers.
The ones in my OT are amazing.
