Education is the key, if people want to hear and understand.

How ironic that people gathered in one place to listen to a talk on a pandemic viral outbreak. Should have been only put out online

Although Professor Heymann didn’t literally emphasize that every single person should be self-prepared, (he only indicates specific groups that should be concerned, ) it is ADVISIBlE that y’all understand that we should try our best to protect ourselves. DO NOT consider this epidemic is irrelevant to you unless you fall ill. I can see and hear tragedy happening every day around here. Just saying.

My concern. We have a second mutant strain arise (with only 100, 000 cases) which can reinfect people who recovered. Neither strain provides immunity for the other strain.

If we have variant strains roughly every hundred thousand cases, this is going to get ugly.

The problem is not the amount of people who gets infected, but rather the impact the panic has on the Economy. Was China's reaction warranted? They certainly treat this very differently than we the rest of the world. It is now in South Africa with a very bad infrastructure, over 40 mill people living in shaks and town ships and estimated 80% have latent TB. Most people don't live paycheck to paycheck, the live DAY to DAY dependent on handouts and day jobs. If China battled to keep it under control although they are the most efficient country in the world, South Africa will be a completely different story. Watch this space because the rollercoaster of death and survival starts now.

The fact that our hospitals and doctors are pressed with this virus has got to be an eye opener. Let's be honest, it ain't nothing compared to what it could be either

Hospitals after a financial charge who can afford a hospital, Americans will stay away as long as possible, the cost could bankrupt any family, Americans will continue to work and if sick, many will contiure to go to work, not because they are bad or dumb, Gov. not providing resources to assist. Many Americans have been taught the be self reliant, thus, need to work even if sick

"The coronavirus" just adds to the confusion many people have that contributes to the panic. Coronavirus is a family of viruses, which are up to 1/3 cold/flu like infections. Covid19 is just a specific new strain. But it is super important that people understand that panic isn't warranted and could actually worsen the likelihood for it to kill more people, not less.

Much apprechiated!
It's so important to get objective information about this.
"The News" are not really doing a great job here, in my opinion.

Thank you. It was good to hear these views, with reasonable cautions, but not just encouraging panic.
