"But Matt the Tesla uses regen for braking and carbon ceramics are for taking the car to the track. That's a useless upgrade!"

Shut up, nerd! We're here to make the Nerd 3 awesome and the best way to do that is install a set of $8000 carbon ceramic front brakes. They are really freaking cool though and they look amazing on the car regardless of the actual usage.

Loving the series. Can't wait to see what kind of exhaust you choose for this

Matt: "The Tesla nerds aren't gonna like this one!"

I actually love it. Most of the owners don't do anything besides wheels and a wrap so being able to see Matt experiment on his before I mess with our M3P is pretty helpful!

brake fluid will pull moisture and ruin itself so you should not leave it in the pump container.. it needs to be completely sealed from outside elements.

Matt, while you're at it, add a Dinan exhaust.

Multiple Teslas owner here. I love this series. As a former petrolhead with tons of track time, it is nice to see someone attempt clean jobs like this one.
Overkill? Perhaps, but man, it’s nice to see neatly organized garage fun.
If you get the plaid, that will be sick to watch a no snow environment Tesla modded nicely.
Great vid. 👌🏼

Empty out bleeder and clean with denstured alcohol. Keep the bleeder clean and empty til next use.

Dude putting carbon ceramics on a electric vehicle is the neediest thing you can do to a car. Nerds go to the extreme and do the most unnecessary. You are the nerd you’re talking about. 😂🤣😂🤣 great build, I’m loving it!

Do you by chance still have that rear set of the dampers and springs on the bench in the video? I picked up a front set of KW V3's but i dont have a rear set. As the MPP and the KW are the same, if you still have them I'd love to buy them off you.

Here’s a trick I learned saves a tonne to fluid headaches .. Buy or save a few Bleeder Nipples.. They screw in the brake line after you remove it and completely seal off the dripping fluid.. Only learnt this recently.. It’s brilliant as is save a lot of mess and you don’t want your master cylinder to drain out..:)

Hey Matt, Nice job brakes look sweet. Great tip about the brake fluid also most cars will trigger the brake light when the fluid reaches a certain level a lot of people think when they see that light that means the brake fluid is low and a lot of people would just add fluid but that’s really was not the intention The light means that the brakes need to be at least inspected and probably the pads are ready to be replaced so always listen to your father🙂

Once a new bottle of brake fluid is opened, it either goes into the car or gets disposed of. I don't hang onto any old fluid because it will absorb moisture from the air that is introduced once you break the seal. I think even new sealed containers of brake fluid have a recommended shelf life of about 2 years.

If all I'm doing is bleeding brakes after swapping a caliper, I only use the power bleeder to pressurize the system and will fill the reservoir by hand. I only put fluid in the power bleeder if I am flushing brake fluid. Once I'm done, I clean out the power bleeder with denatured alcohol and allow it to dry before putting it away.

Did you compare the weights the OE rotor and caliper vs UPP?

If u but a bar to hold brake pedal down then release pressure through bleed nipple then u don’t get leaking while your working plus less air going back in to the system

Just FYI for anyone reading this, anytime you remove the dust cover you are technically removing also the heat shield. the ABS sensor in th back is now exposed to heat, street driving will be fine but if you track the car, you will melt it. so wrap it with automatic thermal shield.
