No wonder Kei trucks are getting popular on farms and light offroad trails. $37k is buying a used Tacoma

Been hunting on a lease for a few years with a guy that’s been using an electric sxs. When you need to get out quickly and quietly this is absolutely the best. I’ve had one on my list for years but they are expensive compared to the gas’s counterparts. However less maintenance is a big selling point. I’m excited for the future of these.

Costs more than my Ford Ranger that is street legal with windows and doors and 400 mi of range

I would love having an EV SxS--quiet, low maintenance... but not at that price.

For that price you may as well buy a Jeep and never worry having fuel with you.

So trucks are $80k+ and a toy is $40k+.

I guess with the side by side, 80 miles is enough? I don't do that yet, but it's a hobby I'd like to get into. The one thing I'd say gas has an advantage with is... when you're out of gas, you can easily bring another can or two with you. With a battery you gotta go back home or find a charging station out in the mountains. How often is that a problem?

Could you imagine having to charge a SxS for 3 hours? You couldn't even go anywhere, I can hit any gas station and be on my way in 5 minutes. This is an over powered golf cart.

Thanks for your effort guys! It's apparent you work your tails off to give us entertaining and informative content. It is appreciated.

Nice EVs. One suggestion on your load-out. What you do works but better to run the SxS tie-down straps straight forward and straight back, not crisscrossed. Also, connect as close to the center of the wheels as possible. That way the machine can bounce on the suspension without stressing/loosening the straps.

One of the best parts is that you can park it for a few years, then grab it and go without worrying about the gas or oil going bad or the belts drying\cracking, with the tire condition being the only thing you really need to keep an eye on.

Who the F wants to worry about how much charge you have and if you can make a trip all the time... F that!

While I'm impressed with the capabilities of an EV side by side, I think I'll let the early adopters pay the exorbitant $37k. I'm happy to wait for them to come down to a more reasonable price. As it stands now, you're not getting double the capabilities but you're paying about twice the cost of an equivalent gas model. Those economics just don't make any sense.

The argument still is that eventually batteries degrade over time, something like a Honda sxs could last a couple decades easily with regular maintenance where as an ev likely won't.

Who can afford any of these new sxs or trucks for that matter. I know with my 45 hour week job and BS degree I can’t.

I kinda like the sound of the
side by sides most sound pretty decent especially when you want to go fast.

$37, 000!? I just bought my wife a new small AWD SUV for way less than that. Who can afford a side by side that costs more than the vehicle they drive?

Great video guys. To the EV fans, explain to me how you charge your EV ATV at your cabin that doesn't have electricity for a extended weekend? And who can afford a $35k+ toy...

The price is insane. We paid that for a new model three just last year. I've had several SxSs and currently have a 24 KRX 1000. Sport machine with 22" of wheel travel and it was almost half the price of this Ev Ranger. I just don't get the market for these other than avid hunters with DEEP pockets. Most hunters don't need much more than a golf cart with 4wd and some decent suspension. Even the base model of this is really expensive compared to ICE models.
