The reason Optimus lost in DOTM to Sentinel is not because he let his emotions get the better of him. Optimus killed Sentinel camly so Optimus WAS NOT blinded by rage.

But the thing is he does not look like truck anymore, without those exhaust pipes in the back, no one could guess that he is a truck.

In tf (1-3) he actually has his truck parts, which is why i love that design aswell.

I think Optimus realized that he has no Defence, he uses an Axe and a Sword, whilst Sentinel used a Sword and Shield and decided to take up on the weapons used to best him
