101 welding basic open corner joint .if you want to make it look better grind the corner edges of a little, the weaves to big.

This is like the 10th short I've watched of this guy welding - pretty sure he'd cut/grind the two 90 degree faces to 45 degree faces and then weld them together using a left/right motion consuming 1 stick only...

U dont need that many runs on a corner joint. One pass will fully penetrate the root, just loop the weld so u can get improved penetration on the side walls

We were told to never "Wash weld" that broad of a pass. Apparently it imparts too much draw or tension within the weldment.

(Without knowing much about welding) it seems that this could be a good way to teach proper hand movement technique? The space between each piece makes you move your hand like you would for a good weld 🤔
