If you can find a good old SA-200 Lincoln at a good price buy it. I started out with one use it for 30 years made a lot of money with it. I overhauled it twice and I still own it.

If you can afford it by a new or almost new diesel, they will run easily 10, 000 hours before needing to be overhauled and the fuel economy will pay off.

Whatever type of welding machine you purchase for field use, I recommend diesel, not gasoline. It's ideal to have a diesel welding machine with a diesel truck. Extremely low maintenance compared with gasoline powered.

My 1st welder miller bobcat 225nt propane fueled. No issues, but as u know propane don't like cold weather. But oh well.

Seemed more like youre a lincoln guy i respect it, what are your thoughts on like smaller welder/generators like the miller bobcat 225, trailblazer or the bobcat 250 ive got a 225nt itll weld pipe and structural settings, have you had any experience with those machines or know of people with good or bad experiences

Question about yall school im a junior fixin to be a senior and im in a votech school for half a day weldin already and ive gotten my stick and mig cert and im close to gettin my tig cert and there all plate can i skip all that or di i have to redo them or what
