The Kepler space telescope has had a profound impact on our understanding of the number of worlds that exist beyond our solar system. Through its survey, we’ve discovered there are more planets than stars in our galaxy! After nine amazing years in space, Kepler’s journey is coming to an end. Before we say farewell to the spacecraft, NASA invites you to celebrate its legacy by sharing something about what the finding of “more planets than stars” means to you. Tag your posts on social media with the hashtag #MorePlanetsThanStars.

In Canada we have the Full side of the gas gauge on the right and Empty on the left... Must be a metric thing... :-) Seriously, this has been a fantastic spacecraft and it is a real shame that running out of volatiles is going to end the mission. With SpaceX flights becoming cheaper and cheaper, perhaps it is time to work on a space tanker that can visit these kind of great observatories and replenish their fuel and cooling consumables. Imagine 20 years of observing... Great work NASA!

NASA's Ames Research Center, is the #MorePlanetsThanStars thing still going on? If so, I would still like to make something:)

#MorePlanetsThanStars means the universe is quite an ordinary piece of space, which I like. Thank you, Kepler & team.

I'm confused? If Kepler observed 530, 506 stars and 2, 662 planets how are there more stars than planets?
