The Surface Laptop is a laptop computer designed by Microsoft as part of the company's Surface line of personal computing devices. When it debuted, the laptop was intended to compete with Apple's MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.

The Surface Laptop 2 is a Surface-series laptop produced by Microsoft. Unveiled at an event in New York City on 2 October 2018, and alongside the Surface Pro 6 released on 16 October 2018, it succeeds the Surface Laptop, released in June 2017. While maintaining a design similar to the original design of its predecessor, the Surface Laptop 2 has improved hardware specifications.

The Surface Laptop line features a traditional laptop form factor, as opposed to the detachable, 2-in-1 convertible form featured in the regular Surface / Surface Pro devices.

Note: as reference, the original surface laptop often goes for ~$100, although this 2nd gen has stronger performance. They can be found on eBay (usually better deals on used tech are available there, although amazon is typically more hassle free). However, there are always exceptions to the rule, so remember to shop around :)

Its not worth it because the battery will die and its not made to put a new battery in Surface did us dirty.
