Tired of youtubers saying this can’t be used as a computer and it costs $2000. Not everyone needs pro apps and nobody is spending that much money so dishonest just for views. I disagree because you’re only problem with the iPad is the lack of ports (which the MacBook also lacks) and the lack of pro apps. The software is fine you can do everything mostly what a MacBook can. You just do it differently. MacBooks are massively inferior don’t listen to this guy he has no idea what he’s talking about

Doing anything that requires a Professional Workflow can be done 3x faster on any PC laptop iPadOS is a workflow killer. iPads are good for drawing, handwriting, and after that it a giant phone screen. Its not a laptop replacement. A laptop is a desktop replacement. iPad most likely never will be and that's ok, good review thanks

Correction: According to Apple, without HDR in use your display can go up to 1, 000 nits, not 600 nits.

Only reason the M1 iPad Pro is “Overkill” is because the iPhone Operating System running it is limited.

MacOS on M1 Macs gives users the ability and flexibility to use all those spec resources.

Expectations definitely killed this for so many ppl, apple should've just gave us a crappy processor hehe, to me it's soo good.
Everyone loved the ipad pro which was just $100 less, now this one just because of the display is worth it imo, but you also get quite a few awesome features as well as the M1 processor? I understand it could do so much more, some people actually even expected it to be able to run macos, wat? The ipad is definitely and ipad, and is amazing.

I think a lot of people isolate “Pro” users as people who strictly do video editing and photo editing, because as a healthcare professional/graduate student, the iPad Pro works perfectly well for my needs. I love my MacBook Pro, but the accessibility of the touch screen and the Apple Pencil alone gives it more versatility to me. Everyone has different needs. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I agree. I only use my iPad for entertainment purposes. Watching movies or streaming my Xbox Series X to it while on the go. If my Macbook Pro had a cellular option and could stream my Xbox without buying a second party software, I wouldn't need my iPad.

Great Review and I have to agree. We gotta accept a Tablet will never fully be a laptop. Windows had the right idea by trying to convert a Laptop into having a tablet form with the Lenovo Yoga type fully bendable hinge. I would buy a basic spec Ipad as a side piece mainly just to do light tasks and watch movies BUTT also as a portable 2nd Screen for my MacBook Pro.

Ipad os can't resize windows, can't pin pdf to homescreen, can't open Instagram full screen high res, can't go back or clear all, can't use pen to navigate, can't side load apps download anything and use it, can't it can't do anything but sell you apps. Google apps are better. I don't want pro apps I just want to be able to use the damn ipad which looks and sounds better than Mac book, if macbook had better screen with touch and pen and sounded better I wouldn't be complaining foh I demand more literally every other os can do everything I said but ios and ipad os

I’ve never questioned my ability to get work done on my iPad! I sold my MacBook, don’t want another one and I work in Operations for Paratransit. I am a Professional. Although many YouTubers think professional means video editor 🤦🏾‍♂️. iPad has a better screen than a MacBook, more accessories, an incredibly larger App Store, All apps are optimized for my device so I don’t need to buy the most expensive version. Can get cellular data if I want. I can go all day how the iPad is better than a MacBook. But that’s my opinion. You shouldn’t tell someone to just buy a MacBook because you are unwilling to learn and adapt to iPad. When MacOS doesn’t do something you wish it did do you say just buy windows? Nope I’m pretty sure you adjust to it’s capabilities and incorporate it into your workflow. Again this is just my opinion. iPad is the better device! At the end of the day it’s all about the software that runs on it. I have an endless sea of options, how many new Mac apps have you discovered this week that didn’t come from IPadOS or iOS first?

I agree with your assessments. The iPad Pro is still an amazing device. I bought one the other day. I’m so happy with it, but it is most definitely overkill for my uses. If only the MacBooks had a cellular option!

You earned a subscriber good review and telling it like it is. Was considering a pro iPad I’m currently using a 2018 iPad 9.7 Using it as a media device and light video editing and designing ( luma fusion and vectornator). Gets the job done will invest in a MacBook rather than an iPad Pro, think there is wisdom in what you said.

I bought the 12.9/2TB/Cellular version, tried it, and returned it in 2 days and replaced it with the 11/2TB/Cellular version. To me, the mini-LED, is a bridge technology at best, and not worth the extra bulk and weight in carrying around the larger 12.9 model. The 11" version's screen is mature technology, even though not a brilliant screen per se.
