Windows 98 Computer

This computer I an old XYLO from 2000 and runs Windows 98 Second Edition. The computer currently has an Intel Pentium 3 installed.The version of Microsoft Office installed on it is Microsoft Office 97 Professional. It also has a Tornado V92 56k external dial up modem installed however it is connected to the internet via an ethernet card directly connected with a cable to the router. The web browser that I use on it that supports Windows 98 is Mozilla Firefox 2.5 and somewhat works to browse the web.

Windows 98 is the successor to Windows 95 and the MS-DOS counterpart to Windows NT 4. Windows 98 was the fist version of Windows to introduce active desktop, quick launch and Windows Update. Windows 98 came in two main releases as Windows 98 First Edition in 1998 and Windows 98 Second Edition in 1999. Support for Windows 98 ended in 2006. Windows 98 would be the last version of Windows to have the option to restart the computer in MS-DOS mode.

And that user interface looks so much nicer than anything from the past ten years.

My great grandkids use my Windows ME set up from late 90s. They're 4 & 5. Had to teach them to use the mouse.

That's a cool tower desktop PC with Windows 98 on it. To this day, I enjoy using Windows 98 on an actual computer and in virtual machines in Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 and Oracle VM VirtualBox since I'm a retro PC kind of guy, although Windows 10 has been my everyday Windows operating system since late 2015. Cool computer demonstration!

This was literally our family computer till 2005. The memories u unlocked with this especially that start up sound at 0:30 unlocked way too much memories of my childhood.
