The second edition almost killed me. I had the paperback in a plastic bag on the handlebars of my bike, a car pulled out and I swerved, when I turned back the book swung and slotted between the spokes of my front wheel. Needless to say it ended badly for me, my wheel (lost 4 spokes) and the book. Always get the hardback to avoid this problem as it will not fit between your spokes! ;)

I spent 7 years in the NAVY on submarines . I was on SSBN and they go out under water 60 days or so. There are about 150 guys on board . I was a electronic tech. We had the 1st and 2 ND editions  There is a lot of time on a sub after you are qualified on every thing   I have read cover to cover and used it to check and see how a circuit works. To bad I am out now and disabled or I would buy one of these.

"The Art of Electronics" (translated, polish edition) was one of my best books about electronics. I've read it so many times that it had almost fallen apart :)

The guys that write some of those books are geniuses!  Many years of education, studying and application.  Plus, it's not 100 years old... it's what is happening NOW!  You conveyed some excitement!

1080 lines of horizontal resolution, 50 frames per second, 24 cores, 16 gigs...for THIS?!?!  Just kidding, that was pretty funny, you should keep the little stuff coming, as much as I thoroughly enjoy the teardowns, mailbags, and repair attempts, these short little blips and rants are well worth it!!

Hi Dave,

I think you could plan a series of blogs called something like "Art of Electronics Fridays".
Something where you would go through the book chapters, doing an overview of the topic, calling out some traps "for young players", doing some practical examples, or applications of the subject.
Stuff in the perspective of hobbyists or electronics engineers wannabees... 
What do you think ?
