I applied for a job at a bank in 2021. They just got back to me in 2024 and said I was unqualified for a bank teller position.
I have two degrees, seven years of retail and cash handling experience.
These sorts of listings need to be punishable by a fine. It creates this idea that tons of places are hiring when they aren't.
The only replies I've gotten have been from fast food and retail companies. The others all say the same thing. "Ok sorry about that. The position actually isn't available right now, but we'll keep you in our database!" or they say they would like to interview for a position that is several pay grades down from the one you applied for. It's ridiculous and dishonest.

If turn over is that high do you even want the job?!
I’m more concerned with phishing attempts through job listings.

If it’s a nightmare to land the job it’s not going to be better once you’re hired.

There needs to be legislation created against this devious practice.

Every resume needs to be customized for each role, which feels like a huge waste of time and makes the whole job application process annoying.

How about someone penalize the companies instead?
