Monday 10 AM Tropical Update: Storm models point to Florida landfall

A developing storm will enter the Gulf of Mexico this week and likely head toward Florida. As of Monday morning the tropical disturbance was in the formative stages in the northwest Caribbean.

It will continue to organize as it approaches the Yucatan Channel in the coming days. By Wednesday, it looks like we will have a named storm and perhaps a hurricane in the southern Gulf of Mexico.

The steering currents will begin to change Wednesday as an upper trough over the deep south pulls the system north and slightly northeast towards Florida. This setup will allow the storm to grow stronger and it very well could be a major hurricane as it nears landfall Thursday.

Overall, the concern level for Louisiana is decreasing, but we'll keep an eye on the system as it enters the Gulf by late Tuesday into Wednesday.

72hr marker is what I’ve learned. Weather changes so much. Whenever the storm is 3 days out it’s pretty clear where it is heading

Looks like it will tuck into Tampa Bay area....That HIGH moves east across FL and will draw the Hurricane in Easterly ...I think.

The prediction for the storm being Cat 2 at landfall is an early average. It can be up to Category 4. Please thank Global Warming for the WARM temps in the Gulf.

There 5 storms out there in the Caribbean > That could hit the US. But ! We got front coming in, TO PUSH THEM OUT AND AWAY 👉👉 How far is the question?.. And where they may hit 🙄🙄 The best guess is? 👉👉 Fine where the HIGHEST Barometric Pressure is? That the best guess where they will head
