Saturday 10 am Tropical Update: Marco strengthens, Laura continues trek towards Louisiana coast

Marco continues to strengthen Saturday morning. Because the storm is stronger the path has shifted slightly to the east and impacts look more likely for south Louisiana starting late Sunday and lasting through Tuesday.

Tropical Storm Laura is trying to organize more, but the process has been very slow. The storm is now forecast to remain a bit farther west than the earlier track and expects the storm to move across the Greater Antilles through the weekend. The mountainous terrain of Hispaniola could disrupt the surface circulation and Laura may be very disorganized once in the Gulf Monday. This would mean Laura would need to undergo far more development once in the Gulf to intensity.
