How To Install a Desktop Hard Drive

In this video I show you how to install a desktop SATA hard drive in Windows 7. Installing a 2.5" or 3.5" hard drive or SSD isn't difficult as all it requires is a hard drive, a desktop computer with at least one empty 3.5" bay and possibly a screwdriver. I also show you how to format and initialize your new drive in Windows using Disk Management.

How Austin installs a hard drive: so you just plug in these 2 things, screw it in and format it.

How I install a hard drive: ok, so first we need to remove my oversized gpu blocking the SATA ports by spending half an hour getting out screws blocked by the casing. Then we need to unplug the pci express and have the gpu fall down into the casing, then we fuggily get it back up into a safe spot. Then we get to install the drive by trying to fit square pins into circular screw holes, then we plug in the cables. THEN we spend another half an hour getting those screws back in then we realize that those were gpu screws so we didn't need to remove them in the first place and we still leave one screw kind of loose (it'll be fine). NOW we get to format it.
