I was pleasantly surprised to see my comment used in this video. You're so right about non-verbal communication. It played a huge part of my sales success. I actually care about the customer, the outcome, the industry I serve and the multitude of people who are directly and indirectly affected by my sales. When you sit down and really think about it, there are often dozens of people involved with each sale. Often it can be hundreds of people. The customer of course, the insurance company, the roof contractor and all of their employees, the shingle manufacturer and all of their employees, the store that sells the roofing materials, the people who make the nails, etc etc....the list goes on. That puts a whole new perspective on the gravity - importance of what salespeople do. But to answer your question about what percentage of communication is non verbal, there was a thorough study in the 1960s by Dr. Mehrabian. He discovered that 93% is non verbal! Only 7% verbal.

I forgot to mention the book I promised to recommend in the video! Ooops! It's "Delivering Happiness" by Tony Hsieh (RIP).

4:47 I love this part. I never knew that saying cough* cough* or "Excuse me" or "cough* cough* + "Excuse me". " after screwing up a line you can get away with it. The expression on the face as it looked at the paper "What am I looking at here again? I forgot.." for a millisecond + the lines/body language that indicated "oops I messed up, well whatever.. moving on Mr. Homeowner."

Most homeowners/people if you try to pass that off as nothing happened, they will go. "Uh-huh.. I heard you hiccup there buddy, you think I'm gonna let that pass? I'm not sure if I can trust you for the job anymore."

Hey my friend! I'm super thankful and grateful for you and all your free content! Wow... Will buy your paid for content once I consume all of this and get going financially. I don't see the pdf download for this print out though, is there a link? Or is this pdf in your pitch like a pro section? Thanks Adam!

I went from drywall finisher to land surveying back to drywall then I started doing other things like plaster siding doors windows framing acoustic ceilings I’ve done interior trim work insulation tile built decks and remodeled bathrooms and kitchens. I even built a small bridge that I way over engineered. I’ve lost my ass and won on a few. Paid many bills and lost some shit too. Went to jail once had a few too many and my wife called the law. Best money I’ve ever spent was getting myself out of that place lol
I started subcontracting metal roofs and done maybe 150 or so with my crew. I’m done dining the work started my own roofing company and I’m going all in this week. Just started today hoping to God he has my back in this too.

How do you approach a door? Sometimes people just peek through the window or have cameras on their doors and they just said “ can i help you” but it’s kinda hard to explain what I do through a closed door
