The Divine Messiah, the Rider of the Clouds, and the Destruction of the Temple

Michael Lofton examines the trial of Jesus, its context surrounding the destruction of the temple and Jesus' claim to be the Son of Man. He shows how Jesus' claim to be the Son of Man is a claim of divinity due to its relation to the cloud rider motif in the prophet Daniel. He also shows the discussion in Jesus' trial about the temple and the cloud rider motif was fulfilled with the destruction of the temple in 70 AD in light of the Olivet Discourse.

Dear Michael Lofton, you seem happier when you are doing these theological (evangelical) videos rather than the polemical ones. This was very helpful!! Thank you!!

I really liked this one. Reminds me of Dr. Michael Heiser. God rest his soul.

The title of Cloud Rider is a powerful one. It let's me know exactly where I stand in relation to the King of the Universe.

I appreciate highlighting the supernatural nature of the Bible as well as the Ancient Near Eastern Context surrounding it.

And don't forget the Glory Cloud that rests on the Ark of the Covenant. I took the Glory Cloud as God Himself, but now that you mention this it makes me think that God is on the Glory Cloud.

Interesting…I have been reading Mark’s account in chapter 13… I to believe this to be connected to the destruction of the temple for sure!

Thank you. Learned something new. I always thought of Son of Man as Jesus identifying with his human self, an act of humility instead of saying, I am the Son Of God. I figure there's some deeper meaning and here it is.

Would it be conformant to Church teaching to say that Christ has come 2 times and will come one more time? The bible makes more sense to me if I think it this way.
