This is not same as force quiting ann app.. swiping up on ann app will only end any active background processes related to the app. I really wish android would make it simpler to kill an app.

On my Android phone there is Settings, Apps, [the app], Battery, Allow background activity. I think some apps must be mining bitcoin when you aren't using them. Battery also tells you what percentage of the battery was used since the last charge. I have Android 10.
