To me the 747 is the most beautiful passenger airliner ever made

Dang, first time I’ve ever heard anyone reference an airplane’s engine as a motor.

My very first work order out of aviation school was to change the tires on a 747. Just me. It was pretty straightforward but what impressed me the most was the HUGE torque wrench. It took me awhile but the inspector signed me off.

Not motors. They're engines. Motors are for electric applications.

Never heard any pilot or AMP even call jet turbine engines, or even piston engines for that matter, a motor… because technically a turbine is not a motor

I used to just be amazed by the amount of weight it could lift off the ground last I checked the 747-800 series was about a million pounds and even the 200 series had the ability to lift around half of that and when you see it get up with a full load in the middle of the summer in Las Vegas it is amazing 🤩

Nice the Minneapolis Airport has a very nice observation area right in the middle of the airport.

Here he goes again with the MOTORS. They're turbofan jet engines. NOT

Correction. A motor is electrical, an engine is powered by fuel

Most people don't know this but you have a interval between takeoffs of airplanes for a reason. The plane that took off in front of you may have made a turbulence that will crash your airplane if you're smaller than they are ....so typically anywhere from 40 seconds to 3 minutes is allowed between takeoffs to avoid this turbulent air-wash in subsequent crash.

I didn't know they had electric "motors" always thought they had engines

It's an engine, not a motor. Motors run on electricity, engines run on combustion.

Engines*. The term motor is used for electric driven objects and vehicles

Flight Test mechanical engineer here. FYI about 80% of the thrust from these jet engines is from the turbine, not the ignition of the fuel. So all that damage is mostly from air, not hot gas release.
