FedEx and Southwest DISASTER In Austin!

Показать описание
According to the NTSB , FedEx 1432 and Southwest 708 almost collided in Austin, Texas. The two planes came within about 100 feet of each other when FedEx was cleared to land while Southwest was trying to takeoff. Weather played a significant role in this near disaster, but the tower should have never cleared Southwest to takeoff.

Did ATC read the screen correctly? WTF!

It was never going to work in fog. Tower issued the RVR distances. The 737 needed to be on the roll when fedex was at 4 miles. Also issues with the 737 lining up re the ILS sensitive area when Fedex inside 8 miles. Other issues include loss of separation in the go round. ATC needs to be retired.

FexEx was just too close for ATC to clear SW for takeoff.

Could have been a repeat of Tenerife...

This is edited. ATC told southwest to hurry up and depart but that transmission was stepped on so southwest didn't receive.

ATC then repeated t.o. clearance and southwest then took active.

if SW heard initial TX, fed ex would have been OK to land.

Wasn't ATCs fault like it sounds here.

The controller is fine the southwest pilot should not have stopped on the runway as he was giving permission to takeoff. The air traffic controller did not say line up and wait he said cleared to takeoff.

What could go wrong?

The control tower shown in the video is not the one in Austin. We see the tower of Amsterdam Airport (AMS). Why include fake images in your video?

Your definition of disaster and mine are vastly different. 🙄

Ronald Reagan said fire them all. Safety is not an issue .
