Thanks for this tutorial! It is seemingly aimed at Linux newbies, like me, more than hackers, so I would appreciate if you explained some things more in -depth. For example, how to set up a lock-screen and bottom bar. How to auto-start programs. How to set the default browser and other programs. Also, touchpad clicks and sideline scrolling. Is it possible to include basic window effects (fades when alt-tabbing, for example)? How to choose a notifications daemon. Etc. Hikari is one of the most promising minimalist composers for Wayland but there are very few manuals for non-hacker folks.

Very nice video, thank you for the introduction! Do you know if it's possible to have title bar and actions on the windows?

Which Wayland compositor do you think is the most promising today? I 've tested Hikari briefly and, in my superficial view, it lacks some window management functionality. For example, dragging windows to corners to make them tile/go fullscreen. This is something I personally am used to when working with non-tiling window managers.

Sway is good, I've run the beta of Fedora Sway for a couple of months and it's my dailt driver. But it's a tiler. For my needs, it isn't needed and doesn't increase productivity.

DWL should be too difficult for a newbie, like me, when it comes to patching. I worked with DWM and it was difficult.

LabWC maybe. Despite the name, it does look promising. I am stuggling to configure it now.

I enjoy your videos very much. It would be great to see a walkthrough for something like Void LabWC. Thanks in any case.
