I dont understand what these ppl keep commenting saying; we dont have 5th gen yet ;we will lagging; pakistan will get 5th gen by 2028, etc . Yes certain things are slow and definitely HAL should be blamed but we are trying to be aatmanirbhar, we cant expect anyone to help us . Its the reality. So even if we are late it doesn't matter bcs we will have our own tech, but when we depend on others we cant claim anything as our own. Just like how the world has sanctioned russia and iran and even china to some extent, the second india starts questioning their hegemony they will sanction us for no valid reason. India will never join Tempest, a big mistake but India is good at making mistakes. Tejas is our 10th gen and HAL believes AMCA will be 20th generation jet, as I think AMCA will enter production when World would be making 7th or 8th gen jet.

HAL Hindustan Aaram Lodge. Our private sector cannot take up the challenge of developing 6th gen aircraft unless substantial profits are assured. Nobody is going to take the Tejas seriously unless we produce it in sufficient numbers and get the Air Force to put it through its paces. Even today many countries prefer second hand F-16s to the Tejas. Is it because the Tejas is not yet as good as an F-16?
