Barricade and Bumblebee through the films have almost a professional courtesy to see who beats who first. It's on-sight for those two, but it's almost like two brothers fighting. Can't beat the other, or in this case, can't kill each other.

I’ve always seen this as him just not giving a shit. The Autobots are breaking through their defences, any more powerful Autobot could be just out of sight ready to attack. There are more important things to worry about than watching an old rival get executed.
