That's the one thing I respect about Barricade. He's smart enough to know that they're are fights he may not win or survive in. So he goes for Option B. bail out.

Basically Ironhide reincarnated into Barricade. Sounds just like him, acts just like him. Yes, the same voice acter, but Bay could've created a little bit of distance between the two.
