Meloni was straightforward about his departure from Law & Order SVU. Which is basically him and producers were unable to come to an agreement and he decided to move on to the next thing. That's the way to be, not bitter.

I don't watch SVU any more, primarily because I do not like ANY of the replacement characters. Meloni not being there is not the reason I do not watch it. Just the people who replaced him and others are just not as good as the previous actors.

It was one thing for him to leave but to not even give him a proper farewell episode was just crap.

The way his character left the show is cruel on Law & Order SVU producers. His character did not even say good -bye to the other core characters. Very Sad. But it has been six seasons since his character has been off the show and I can tell in different interviews Chris has no interest of going back on the show. I have all the season on dvd.

I was in shock when Stabler left and I was determined not to watch it any longer, but I went against my better judgment and continued. I would encourage you guys to do the same as it did improve after Elliot Stabler’s departure. Olivia Benson is the real star. I’ll watch it til the very end.

You got Eliot Stabler and Hank Shrader.

To all of you saying they're not watching SVU anymore: BIG BIG MISTAKE!
Get over it!
Yes, it was pretty hard when Chris/Elliot left and the way he did that was even more worse BUT SVU is still there! It still brings awareness to this 'especially heinous' topics, it still helps victims and it still deals with this issues, you know no one else is even speaking about.
You know what? Just get over it and try it. Since Meloni left, almost 8 seasons were released. No, it's not the same and I also can't tell it's a better show now but it's equally good at least. It's definitly worth watching and the cast, the script and the acting is still so so epic- even more than before. There a current issues, political issues, true storys of survivers.
Sorry but I just think it's kind of ridicules and childish to say: I don't watch SVU anymore..blah blah blah; after almost 8 years!
Get over it and watch it!

I always loved his character on the show, Olivia and him were polar opposites and it made it great to watch.

Just because you’re not in the show anymore doesn’t mean that you can’t watch at least one episode of your own show or any episode since you left
