That shaky laugh of Stabler's broke my heart, not going to lie. It's "Understatement of the Year" mixed with "You Still Know Me So Well" and "I'm Scared to Death, " it's almost like Stabler is a different person.

This scene killed me. He really DOES have PTSD! Other than his wife, no one knows him better than Liv!

At first I wasn’t sure if I’d like having Benson reoccur in Organized Crime, but it needs to happen because of their friendship...it makes sense.

This man almost lost his shxt when she said she was worried about him. Hearing her actually verbalize that he still means something to her was everything he wanted. I think he's been terrified that she won't let him back in, but this confirmed for him that he never really left her.

Who’s here after Elliot told Liv he loved her? From “You mean the world to me” to “I love you?” If that ain’t a sign, I don’t know what is.

Olivia will not back off because she cares too much about Elliot. Elliot wants Olivia to back off because he can't lose her too after his wife Kathy was just murdered. Elliot saying Liv means the world to him is basically a love declaration.

He loves her and it's one of the reasons why his marriage was falling apart before he left. If he and Kathy didn't have kids, he would have divorced ages ago. He never physically cheated on his wife and he refused to openly acknowledge he loved Liv for his own peace of mind and sanity, but I think deep down he knew he loved her and he felt rather guilty about it, having wife and kids. I think back in the days he felt, if not knew, that she would reciprocate his feelings even beyond friendship, now he's damn scared he lost her.

I feel like Elliot is trying to protect her. She “means the world to him” so why would he tell her what he’s getting involved in. He just lost his wife he can’t lose his world too.

he told her to back off to protect her, but i still feel like she’s gonna be involved in some way. i will say this i don’t remember elliot and olivia expressing their feelings for one another like this, i just hope they can continue to work on their reconciliation

YOU GUYS! this scene kinda made me tear up. :( omg. You can tell how much they both care for one another and they can read each other like nobody else. Stabler definitely has PTSD and Liv was (probably) the only person who can actually tell that he does and she told it straight to his face. At this point, they are the only two that get each other.

I didn't think things would actually be this compelling when Stabler came back. I thought it would be a cool return and reunion to see, but be disappointing overall. But man, the tension and drama here is insane, as is the chemistry between these two. It's such a fascinating back and forth. Both have things they've wanted to say for a decade, but it's never been the right time, and both have so much going on that distracts them from the priorities of the other. Liv wants to get back in, to be there for Stabler, but he's now in protective mode because he's lost so much and doesn't want to risk losing the last person that truly gives his life joy and meaning, especially since Liv has a kid to look after now. So much has changed between them, yet nothing has, and it'll be fascinating to see them both develop apart and then together over time.
