Aww thank you so much for answering my question! 🤗 I’m still using my moisture meter while I learn what my plants like, but I hope that once I’m more experienced I’ll be confident enough to not need it. Today I rescued two plants (a Syngonium and a lemon lime philodendron). I hope they perk up in my house! 😃🪴💜

Loved the repot 🥰. I hate to break it to you but I was the one who bought the marble queen. I was in Mystic with my husband for lunch ( visiting from Long Island) and I saw it by the door and had to have it. I mentioned you to the owner and I felt bad buying it and told her that but she said that she would get more in.🥰

Algae is normal and you are correct that it shows a healthy environment for a plant. Mold on the other hand can cause plant rot and you need to change the medium immediately.💜💜💜

I use long tweezers for my cacti. They allow me to work with them without gloves and I can touch the cactus with them to make sure it is okay. They're very helpful even though they're not a plant tool. Another thing I use is a galvanized tub that I set my large plants in to water upstairs. They have just gotten to big to take downstairs to the shower so they get bottom watered in that tub.

Use a thin (watercolor type) paintbrush instead of Qtips. The fibers get into the tiny areas of the plant.

I have 7 or 8 boys varieties all in my south facing bedroom windows in Colorado. I mist them a couple times a week And run a ceiling fan on low in the daytime!! This has worked well for my hoyas and syngoniums !!

Edit: thank you for answering my question about pests! I used to have mealybugs in my ogre ear jade too. It was helpful to hear how you deal with them in case I see any again. 💜💜💜

I was busy with a bunch of plant chores!!!! 😎😎😎😎🪴🪴🪴🪴 That 5 plants question made me almost cry thinking of which 5 of mine I would keep!!! 😭😭😭 I need to get an African Violet & an Orchid!!! Hmm, non traditional gardening tools: I use chopsticks to make holes in soil to add new cuttings and I use a wallpaper smoothing tool to clean up my potting mat 💜💜💜😀🇨🇦
