What really boils my blood is that I agree that academics do not guarantee success, but a certain amount of education is necessary to lead a good life. AND if the kid wants to become a doctor, engineer, lawyer or something else that requires high academics, a good parent should support that. People like this guy make the rest of look bad because he is basically no better than the parents who make everything about academics. Find balance and think about what your kids want.
