I spent 6 years in the Marine Corps reserve, my MOS was 2500, radio operator, field communications, loved it and knew how important my job was. I'm 82 this year and going on 83 in the summer
I keep in touch the guys that are left from my unit 6th communication battalion First Marine division support Camp Pendleton California.

We had a 30-year internal war, but the ones who have worn uniforms and served do not get much respect here, and I always wonder why. I have seen how people in the US view their contributions once. We were driving from DC to NY when a convoy of army vehicles passed us. All vehicles slowed down, gave way, and saluted them, which was very warm, to say the least. Hats off guys.
