I think this is why I fell in love with Vivaldi. Very few composers did this descending 5th's so well.

I wouldn't say the circle of fifths is rare in classical, but its disguised very well. In mozarts most famous sonata k545 1st movement. The circle of fifths is in there for like 4 of 5 bars. I cant remember but it has the circle of fifths with connecting parallel 10ths. They were very educated.

Someone wrote this song before
And I could tell you where it's from
The 4-7-3-6-2-5-1 to put my mind at ease
Please just have a laugh with me
'Cause you know I'm borrowing by now
These sounds, have already crowned
Come on, it's a silly dream
Dreaming of the imagery unfound
The view sits nice from that cloud
And if you want a piece of my thoughts
There's a coin worth flipping
Why don't you toss?
Please just have a laugh with me
'Cause you know I'm borrowing by now
These sounds, have already crowned
Come on, it's a silly dream
Dreaming of the imagery unfound
The view sits nice from that cloud
And if you want a piece of my thoughts
There's a coin worth flipping
Why don't you toss?

I've always preferred the Baroque period but could never figure out why. Thought maybe it was the imagination taking me away of landed gentry in expensive clothes, drunk and dancing until 1AM in a hall. Powdered wigs and rouge. Come to find out it was the circle of 5ths.

Bro the second variation, F to B7 to Esus4 is freaking amazing mate. The 7th at the base line is really doing the difference here (my bad I know I’m not using the good music terminology here.. it’s really different in french that’s why!)

The variations on the piano/keyboard are so beautiful! The string sound has such a nice warm "tone" to it, and it made me realize how many songs have thia progression! Now I know why those songs feel so special.

Yeah, many songs are using this nice progression.
Another of the great ones is: Fly Me To The Moon.

I always liked the vibe of the Burn's solo sections. I guess this is why.

I dont know if you'll see this comment or not but i have to thank you. I dont even play piano. I play guitar. Watching this video for some reason made chord inversions make sense in my head the way nothing else ever has. This video showed up in my suggested so I figured get why not. I grabbed my guitar and played along for a few minutes. Then asked myself how can i play this differently. It was like in an instant all the triad and inversion drills ive been doing for months landed in my brains understanding of concept💡 pile.
Thank you

Of all the videos that came up in my search, this one was the one that I desperately needed. Thank you 🙏🏼

The first example is by Marcello, not Bach. Bach made a keyboard arrangement of Marcello’s concerto. Also check out Brahms’s Handel Variations.
