Bernie -- Great information -- I am wanting to change the trans fluid on my 2019 Elantra SE with the 6 speed automatic that has 55K original miles and as far as I know the fluid has not been changed, but ... OK so there is ACTUALLY TWO (2) Fill plugs that I see people using! One is under the Air Box (after removal) and this plastic plug is actually the "VENT" for the transmission CORRECT? The factory "FILL HOLE" is towards the rear and a metal 24MM plug like the 24MM metal drain plug -- CORRECT? Does the Manufacturer (or dealer) use the VENT PLUG or the METAL FILL PLUG Location to add fluid? That is my question!

"Recommended for" does NOT mean "approved for."

I have a 2018 Optima with 98, 000 and have never changed the Transmission fluid, should this have been done earlier? If so, how far over am I?

What about a manual double clutch 1.6 turbo? How often should the oil be changed and what kind do you recommend

Please clarify; when performing the final level check with the engine running, is the shifter supposed to be in Neutral or Park, or does it even matter?

You also need to have the vehicle set to neutral very important

actually you want to drive 50 to 100 miles and repeat the process so that you get all the old fluid changed as a drain and refill does not get the fluid out of the torque converter. You want to do this especially since the first fluid change went 40K miles over

@bennieAust so you can drain and fill for this car like a manual car?

If you measure the amount you remove and then add that much back in, is it still necessary to get the transmission oil up to 122 and check the level? I don't have a scanner. Thank you.

Anyone know the Hyundai specific PID for trans temperature? I've got many live data elements feeding from the admittedly cheap ELM 327 OBD dongle, viewing through the torque pro Android app, and it shows a transmission temperature data element, but it's greyed out not active and I can't put a gauge on it

Measure exactly what you take out and then install the exact same amount.
