On April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, Soviet Union suffered a massive explosion that released radioactive material across Belarus, Russia and Ukraine and as far as Scandinavia and western Europe. Chernobyl dramatizes the story of the 1986 accident, one of the worst man-made catastrophes in history, and the sacrifices made to save Europe from the unimaginable disaster.

I'm so sad that I'd never heard of Valerie Legasov or Boris Schemena before this. He should have been well rewarded after the fall of communst CCCP.
There were so many deaths. 31 is a joke.
Many lives were lost that night and days weeks months a and years later.
Including people up here in South Wedt Scotland.
Thete have been more deaths by cancers up here since it blew.
I know in my own village 2 deaths and at least a 20% rose in Leukomia in young people.
Chernobyl... madness. Certainly was. There is plenty of that still around!
