More About Space Girls:
'Space Girls' is a celebration of the power of imagination, the importance of STEM education and girl power!

I wanted to make a fun adventure film about the wonders of space & the importance of space travel. The innocent wonder of childhood – where playtime feels real, alive & magical – felt like an ideal setting in which to explore these ideas.

I was conscious about wanting the protagonists of the film to be a band of girls. The girls are smart, confident & determined – they are obsessed with science & space & want to study hard to achieve their dreams. Geena Davis’ research has compellingly shown that female characters in kids’ media are often underdeveloped, sidelined or solely there as a plot device. It is important that we promote female agency & science positive goals for the next generation.

Inspired by the adage – “If she can see it, she can be it” – I want ‘Space Girls’ to promote & inspire young girls to dream big & work hard so that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. Even becoming an astronaut & travelling to outer space!

Wonderful young actors, especially the littlest guy. The best moment was at the very end: children’s creative imagination nurtured by a supportive adult who never lost his own.

Children's imagination is unimaginable, unlimited. Let them dream. Great work.

I love this film! I was just like those kids, a die-hard fan of Tom Corbett, Space Cadet, when I got my first space helmet in 1952, at age 6. Now, 67 years later, I would be delighted to play space missions with those little astronauts. I suppose there must be a place for a space great-grandpa. When my oldest, now 44, was 6, I built him a space ship out of old fiber barrels, army surplus parts, and imagination. His space suit got all my old Air Force patches and ribbons, and a helmet made from a plastic outdoor lighting globe with embroidery hoops for the attaching rings.

I think its important for our young ones to have dreams such as these and Its our duty to assist and steer them in that direction. One can only hope for a world full of dreams coming true and not a world full of wars and destruction and dreams getting ruined.... Great Video!!

Adorable! And that young boy: how did they get him to deliver his lines so beautifully when toddlers can be so unfocused!

When you wish YouTube had a "Loved it" reaction instead of just "Like".

I really appreciate how the one girl enjoys being flight control although she's not going to space. She's fascinated by other tasks then just seeing phenomena with her own eyes. Definitely my favourite! :)
All together, awesome film!

Videos like this could get kids interested in different things. I like it very much. Good job.

This is deserving of a sequel.
Side note. Would like full construction plans, photos, and schematics of the space ship. (For a friend)

Simply wonderful!
I watched this and then immediately showed it to my six year old daughter who's also aspiring to become an astronaut. Needless to say she was thrilled by it and now wants to build her own cardboard spaceship... 😊

Literally, I just saw my own childhood except I lacked many companions. Those dreams haven't died yet. I'm thriving to make those a reality. Best Of luck me.☺🤗

A "like" is not enough credit for this movie. It is clever and uplifting in every way!

Imagination, no keyboard, Xbox or PlayStation. So much better for broadening the minds of the young. Nice video.

This short film is a welcome distraction. No evil or circumstance can halt progress. The only resource we should exploit now is our imagination. Individually always. Collectively inspired. I love Dust short films. Give this one less than ten minutes and I promise you an inspirational tear.

Well directed considering the main actors are kids.

This is such a cute story. A child's imagination is never bound to just an earthly realm. Sky's the limit and beyond. For those of you who gave this a thumbs down. Shame on you. When did you loose your inner child?
