Did You Know In HARRY POTTER…

Voldemort and his followers placed a great deal of value on blood purity, and yet Voldemort was actually half-blooded himself, having a witch for a mother and a muggle father. This is actually more of an issue in the book, where the prophecy that Harry hears is much longer, and includes the line "the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies." Dumbledore later explained that this description could have applied to Neville Longbottom as well, as he was also born in July and his parents also defied Voldemort three times. But, Voldemort was probably more drawn to Harry since he is also a half-blood wizard, whereas Neville is pure-blood. By targeting Harry, Voldemort irony "marked him as his equal" with a scar and gave him the powers to vanquish him, creating the exact thing he tried to destroy.

A lot of this is explained in HBP, just after Harry procures the memory from Slughorn. Dumbledore even points out to Harry that by choosing Harry as the one more likely to be the one more dangerous to him, he inadvertently made Harry the one more dangerous to him. It's like in an old folktale, where a rich merchant sees Death in his village one day. Death looks surprised to see him. The merchant panicks and flees to the next village to avoid Death. But when he gets there he's horrified to discover Death is waiting there for him. So he says to Death, "Why did you seem surprised when you saw me at my village today?" Death replies, "Because I knew my appointment with you was here tonight."

If anyone’s wondering why Harry’s a half blood it’s cuz his mom is muggle born so his ancestry is not purely wizard borns. I know it doesn’t technically make sense since both his parents were wizards but I heard someone say u have to have at least 3 generations of pure bloods before you before your considered a pure blood.

It is fortunate for most that Voldemort chose Harry over Neville because Snape would never have pleaded for for Frank or Alice Longbottom like he did for Lily so instead of just 2 deaths, it could have potentially been 5, including Neville.

When Voldemort used the killing curse on Harry in the forest and he returned, he temporarily made harry the most powerful wizard in the world. Not only did he have ownership of the elder wand, but through Harry's sacrifice he essentially awakened the ancient protection spell that his mother did with her sacrifice. Whenever Voldemort or his followers in the ensuing battle cast the killing curse against any of the people at Hogwarts, harry would cast protego (which cannot block killing curses in usual cases) but blocked every one that was cast at everyone he was protecting. not only did he have ownership of the most powerful wand, but he also possessed the most powerful protection.

When reading the books, I always thought that Neville was going to be the one to defeat Voldemort in the end. Harry was always built up as such a hero and Neville as a doofus, so I thought it would be poetic justice if Harry was really just the distraction while Neville was secretly the true hero. As it is, I am not disappointed by either the books or the movies, but it did my heart good when Neville killed Nagini in the movie. I can't remember if he did that in the book, too, but I was cheering my ass off when he got to delivery the penultimate blow to the bad guy!!! WITH the Sword of Gryffindor! Now THAT's justice.

If you read the books, you would know that Voldemort only heard the first bit of the prophecy, not the entire thing. Snape overheard this first bit and ran to tell Voldemort. He didn't hear the entire thing and came to the only conclusion he knew - that Harry was the one referred to in the prophecy.

Plus, his witch mother gave his muggle father a love potion, so Voldemort was incapable of feeling love or empathy. Any child born of a love potion will be lacking in love and empathy.

First of all even Dumbledore says this is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
As in, if Voldemort had not gone after Harry, he would not have had anyone who could have "thwarted" him at any point in the future.
And in fact he was planning on going after Neville next.
He just didn't get that far before he was blown into a billion pieces...
Because apparently, murder chips away at one's soul...

Voldemort had committed murder so many times that his soul had SPLIT too many times ... and therefore he was obliterated.
He was too weak - or rather his soul was too weak - so the night he went after Harry he obliterated himself.
Because he split his soul into too many pieces by this time and only had a sliver left...
Unknowingly of course.
But that's what happened.

I think that because both boys had birthdays in the correct month and both parents defeated voldy thrice over, it no longer became chosen one and it became chosen ones. The sword revealed itself in dues time to neville. Harry outsmarted voldy by mastering the elder wand, the paid go hand in hand in killing voldy. One with the other.
-I think it would’ve been a keen idea at any point in time for dumbledore to take neville to the ministry of magic and get his prophecy and reveal it.-
But overall, Neville suffered in the same way as Harry by not having two parents because of voldy. Yet Neville grew up with his grandma and became scared to many things. Harry was placed by dumbledore to protect him, however with a terrible family that over the years would give Harry VERY thick skin. Through out the entire series, it’s as if Harry is the shield for neville! Harry does all of the dangerous work along side his friends, and when they were all kids, Neville tried stopping them in the common area one time and hermione cast a spell that froze him temporarily there, causing him to ultimately remain completely out of voldy radar. Harry believed he was the chosen one, given all circumstances and had more years to mentally prepare to give himself as an ultimate sacrifice. When Harry gave himself to voldy, he cast the same cast love spell that lily cast. So again, now Harry and Neville are alike because they have the ancient protective spell over them. It just makes sense that chosen one became chosen ones once pettigrew meddled and exposed potters family and put the huge target on him, however in doing so protected Neville from having any spotlight and stopping Neville from facing those many near death challenges that he wasn’t ready for. Neville admits to Harry in order of the phoenix that he’s proud to be the son from his parents, he’s just not so open about like Harry is. The only reason voldy believed Harry to be the chosen one was because he was tipped off. Had he not killed Harry and then went straight for Neville, who knows if anyone would’ve cast a protection spell for Neville considering his parents were already dead. It all had to happen the way it did for Neville to completely fly under the radar and vanquish the last horcrux at hogwarts, where voldy made his first horcrux with moaning myrtle. And the very fact that the sword presented itself in dues time to Neville, fate knew. Something knew. The hat can’t predict the precise future but it still gave Neville enough time to find the hat, talk to voldy 1 on 1 and express his love and loyalty directly about harry. Neville and Harry have the chosen one bond and became the chosen ones the night lily cast the ancient spell on Harry. Harry was chosen to act out the near death duties and neville was chosen to kill the final horcrux by the sword itself. Harry had to take the blow to create the protective spell on all of his loved ones. Thus creating the protection spell. Now here’s what I don’t know, if Harry’s friends were protected then would the snake really have been able to kill Ron and Hermione? Ron performed the avana kadabra spell on the snake and yet the snake didn’t die. So did Ron not truly have it in him to kill and admitted defeat by curling up with hermione? Or did Ron’s killing spell prove to be an example that Ron and anyone else that tried to kill the last horcrux would fail, and it was truly Neville’s prophecy to be able to kill the snake due to his parents beating voldy three times!?! There’s too many loose ends for Neville not to be apart of the chosen ones. Dumbledore may never have been wrong, but you can’t be wrong about something you don’t know. So maybe no one knew to begin with what the true circumstance rules were and misspoke from the get go by saying chosen one. Or even if voldy himself was the chosen one because out of all the wizards, he was the one who chose to be so evil and this is just a story of how the evil chosen one was vanquished in the eyes of Harry Potter. 😮

if I remember correctly neville told the trio that his family thought he has no magic because he couldn´t do any spells until his uncle held him out of a window holding his feet but let him fall accidently and neville started to levitate while it says in the books the harry already could fly with his toy broom when he was 1 year old so maybe voldemort just figured that harry was more likely to pose a threat to him later than neville
