Food Scientist here. The ingredients are added to increase profit and shelf life. In Europe they don’t allow it. In the USA I can guarantee corporations will maximize profit however they can.

I can tell you that the EU is much more strict on everything from GMO to unhealthy additives and ingredients .
Even though Great Britain is no longer part of the EU, the foods that are made are for the most part much healthier than here in the US.
In Greece when you get a Kebab and Fries, the Kebab is over open flame and the fries are fried in olive oil and that is it .
All of our foods in Greece we don’t have poison in any foods .

When I ate fish and chips in London and even in Cornwall, I did not get that “ew, I just ate too much fried food” feeling I get when I eat fried food in the US.

We no longer have salt added to our fries in UK. You can add that afterwards with a sachet if you like them salted.

Dextrose it’s in both of them. The carbohydrate for 1 g is over 90 g of carbohydrates doesn’t matter what country you eat it it’s still crap and the only reason why there’s only a few in the European countries is because they’re much more more stricter on the additives, but dextrose will still help you along the lines to becoming diabetic.

I mean in fairness basically none of the food in the USA is up to European Health Code Standards so 😅😂😭

America is behind on so many counts. It’s embarrassing.

I wish McDonald's would make their fries like they did in the'80s, fried in tallow. Which is better for you than any vegetable oil, because your body cannot process vegetable oils, except for olive and coconut oil.

Back in the day they used beef tallow, (which from what I hear is really good for you) the beef flavor is to help simulate the original recipe.

They should just go back to using beef tallow

Easy. Healthcare. I work as a paramedic so I know the system. UK has socialized healthcare, we don’t. It’s all about money. They want us to be fat and sick.

P.s: I don’t want socialized healthcare, but that’s why it’s up to us to make good choices.

Because in Europe we value quality over quantity.

Dude, we were just there! We never eat at McD's in the US, but reading the ingredients, I was impressed! Then I had the best double quarter pounder of my life!

Europe always protects its consumers.
If mcD is adding shit to US consumers, i can only wonder what they are adding in asia and other countries 😂

Because America's "The Best Country In The World!!!" 🙄

It seems to me that food companies in the US arent interested in food but in profit. These additives are more than likely there to increase shelf life thereby reducing easte and increasing profit.
