A Day on Tristan Da Cunha

I was lucky enough to spend one full day on the remotest island in the world. Tristan Da Cunha is remarkably beautiful--a giant green and black volcano in the very middle of the South Atlantic. The people, one of the most isolated populations on earth, are so hospitable and friendly--I was honored to be able to meet so many of them.

1:10 my childhood (in Europe). Not only my grandmothers and my mother but most women could do at home socks, sweaters, rugs, carpets although having other jobs.
Each year one room in the house was emptied and our own big home weaving loom was assembled there and different things have been produced. I also participated.
In the village of grandparents there was the full process from sheep to sweater with all kind of instruments for each step.
Lost civilization of home. It was not not for sell, it was for ourselves.
Now this is lost as family customs. We proudly have now laptops and different plastic rubbish.
I love Tristan de Cuna :-) :-) !!!
It's a pity I will never be there :-( ...

Seeing the vedios brought home the picture of secluded like planet
Pleasingly owsome to see people till leaves on a very small place I wish to be there ..talk to people out there ..roam freely ..make my own home there ..take fresh breath day and night night ...spend my time with the people as the their feeling and their day to day routine ..I wish I lost in the pleasing apparently cool invironment ..take a drive ..the huts type of houses is like my heart resides there ...so so wonder full a place my home I wish to to be ...thanx traveller buddy ..for bringing home a place thousnads miles away from India ...thanx namaste ...

I read a story written by a Swedish sailor called Sven Yrvind who sailed here after attempting to round cape horn on a small home made 20 foot yacht and stayed on the island with his girlfriend for a while. It is awesome to see it on video.
