This is what life looks like at the world's most remote island, Edinburg of the Seven Seas in the Tristan de Cunha island chain. This isolated, yet inhabited, island in the middle of the Atlantic ocean is a very interesting story. Watch until the end to see how the residents work, eat, and live out here in the middle of the ocean!

I am a geography nerd. I had a huge map of teh world in my bedroom when I was young and I studied it with fascination. Having lived across all continents and traveled extensively even for work, I later became obsessed with isolated spots on earth. I found a book years ago with the the remotest islands on earth and that's how I discovered this place. With all the travelers on youtube, I still have to find one who focuses on this: going to all these islands and reporting on life there. That's what I wan to know, the inhabitants' voice. I know for example that many of these islands, especially in the South Pacific, follow the "cargo religion". There are cultures out there that transcend what we all know in the mainland.

It’s pronounced ‘edin-bruh’, like the Scottish capital.

It’s on my bucket list of places to visit, but I’d love to live there.

My questions would be do they have a dentist there for people? Also what about a vet for the animals? It seems like a fascinating place to visit but considering that I would have to fly from San Francisco to Cape Town, South Africa and then go 18 days on a ship to the island and then do it all over again when I leave, I really doubt I would ever try it.

Wishing the grace of God for the nice souls living so peacefully on the island.

While internet connection is slow, they receive six TV channels ( BBC one, BBC two, Channel 4. ITV, Sky News, BFBS ) and phone is available so at least there´s some connection with the mainland.

The video is OK, but quite a lot of footage from various films is totally out of place.

Volcano will erupt again. It's what the island is made of . Winds will be strong again too.

Well. Now that Starlink is a thing they really shouldn't have that much of a problem getting internet.

I found this video VERY annoying because it uses images and clips that are completely unrelated to the content. For example, during the narration of the 1961 evacuation to Great Britain, the video clip is of a 1920's street scene. It makes it difficult to determine what is actual and what is "borrowed" and unrelated.

Ya the police are probably the world's least busiest police. If you were to commit a crime just ware would you run too? Ware would you hide?

"The Storm of the Century"
is also a movie by Stephen Klng. It's also about an island when the residents huddled together in one building.

Okay, I have to ask. Why did you put footage of Hawaii in there at 2:28. That's Mānana Island Seabird Sanctuary.
