Well done! I have to say, I've done all three: 100% Work for someone else, 100% self-employed, 50%/50%. Would say that the best scenario for me was the 50%/50%. Mentally, I was more energized at work and less dependent on my employer for compensation, while at the same time, I wasn't beholden to crazy, needy clients, and the long, often lonely hours self-employment can bring.

Your perspective on owning a business and the pressure it entails (even when things are going well!) is really refreshing and honest. Many online entrepreneurs make it sound like constant 4-hour work weeks and martinis from the beach, which really couldn't be further from the truth. At the same time, there are benefits, and I like how you focus more on the # of people you can impact via your business, as opposed to just the $$$ brought in. Great video!

I love my full time job. I relate so much to that feeling you mentioned at the start of the video that once you found HR you loved your job no matter what. I'm a librarian, and every position I've held within the library/ at different libraries, I've loved. So much so that my side hustle is working PT at a different library lol. I don't think I could be an entrepreneur. I would find the pressure too unbearable. For me, the stability of full time work doing a job I love and am well suited for feels like freedom.

I started my YouTube channel because I liked what I was doing teaching software but realized that not everyone had access to the same resources I had. My first video was for a friend. Now I feel great helping people I have never met.

How much early childhood trauma did you endure?

I think my trauma changed the trajectory of my life.

PTSD keeps me here but disability has not yet helped me even though I have 10 diagnosed mental health disorders.
