Certainly, everytime when I run into this guy's podcasts, is like music to my ears, so well enunciated yet he keeps that perennial smile..and friggin good at it as well.
Well done professor.

Mars is quite nice, love the way he says that so calmly and wisely. 🧡🎇

It’s quite nice relative to floating furnaces of radioactive gas. Cool.

Please do this in my life time, would love to see this before I die, knowing we are pushing the boundaries and certainly gonna be branching off into space this would be the first stepping stone

Mars ain't no place to raise your kids. In fact, it's cold as Hell.

As a scientist, he should know the fundamental problem with Mars is its low gravity.

Earth's gravity provides a whole host of secondary features tied directly to it. It holds a denser atmosphere (low pressure means ice jumps directly to a gas when heated, like C02 does on Earth), plus no atmosphere means no ozone layer to protect from UV. Gravity generates a much larger magnetic field with its core (needed for protection from solar winds)

You are just as well off building a large space station in the middle of nowhere space as you are building on Mars. A space station at least does not take resources to land and take off. Although Earth's L points would be ideal currently, the JWT uses L2.
Slap a massive station in L3 and you'd never be more than 6 months away from Earth, just travel in the opposite direction to the planet's rotation.

Everything you need, except a magnetosphere.... it's like living in a microwave oven... good luck.

I wonder how much gold is on/in mars, and/or other valuable things like diamonds, gems, or silver. It would be really cool to see that, maybe a giant diamond or something. A mars specific jewelry would be fucking badass. Probably a thing in the future.

After Mars, it's the moons of Jupiter, then Saturn

There’s other moons in our solar system we could go to. Hell one day we’ll even get to the Kuiper Belt .

Tell me whats easy -
1. Correcting Earth
2. Making a new planet habitable.
