MY SOCIAL MEDIA:

Do you want to improve your pronunciation? I have launched my British English (Modern RP) pronunciation course! I’ll train you to read phonetic transcriptions, and produce each sound that comprises modern received pronunciation. I’ll also teach you how to implement the correct use of intonation, stress, rhythm, connected speech, and much more. We’ll compare similar sounds, and look at tricky topics like the glottal stop and the dark L.
Technically, I need to mark this as an AD even though it is my own company so - AD :)

When I first started to watch this channel, I couldn’t understand 100% without subtitles. I was at 70% or so. But after a few years, now I’m able to understand almost everything. You helped me a lot. Thanks Lucy.

Thank you Lucy. I have just recently discovered your channel and am thrilled to see a young person who cares about preserving the English language. I am a 58 year old woman from Canada who finds it frustrating listening to young people speaking and butchering the language. I also have concerns about the inability of many people to spell. Please continue to fight for proper speaking and spelling of the English language.

Hi Lucy 😊 i'm Algerian English student and my original language is Arabic which has no relation with English language but we have a nearly similar background according to our use of French in our daily life, so it was a little bit easy to learn English but the hardiest thing that we faced was to learn how can we speak English with an accent either British or American because we r still being confused to use them so that we mixed them all the time and we were told that it's a mistake ....i realy like your way explaining us how to be or act like a native speaker and speak English as a British ones i found your videos very very beneficial and clear😍 thank you a lot❤

I'm a English native speaker from South Africa, but I just love your accent! Other idioms I can think of is. ...."to throw someone under the bus", which is to blame someone else when the heat is on you and you were also to blame. Thanks for your great channel and take care

My homework:
1. I want to make my own game, but I feel it would not be popular, because it'd be a drop in the ocean.
2. I called my cousin to ask her when she's free to go out, but she didn't respond. Now I'm waiting for her to call me back - the ball is in her court.
3. My mother is very helpful and she'd bend over backwards to make things done.
4. I won the competition by the skin of my teeth. It was definitely not a piece of cake!
5. I was a judge at the contest, but I felt like wanting to sit on the fence and rather not vote.

I am a 7 grade student. My classmates always give me the project to do because I am the leader. I am too innocent. So, “I always bite off more than anyone chew but this time I will not be doing their work”. Thank you Lucy for giving your time for making these videos. Now I can confront my classmates. You made my day.

I know most of the idioms. I come here to see Lucy acting nicely. The way she narrates. It is pleasing. A teacher should be like her. Regards

"Actions speak louder than words"

I like the best one because of my motto.

Lucy, you are the best in teaching English for me.
Hometask: Your lesson is definetly NOT a drop in the ocean in our English studies, though using all today's idioms may seem to bite off more than we can chew. On the other hand, we should pull ourselves together and to bend our backwards trying to do our best. But don't be too hard on yourselves and cut yourselves a slack from time to time in order to do your best .
