She could have used, “that ship has sailed”. Meaning...it’s too late, that opportunity has passed or that situation is long over. Nothing you can do about it now.

Hi Marina, I really enjoy your videos, they are very well organized, structured and very educational. There's one mistake in this one though, at 6:24 mins the idiom you're explaining is "Miss the boat" but the screen is displaying "miss the bullet". Thanks again for all these videos... 👏❤️

“Beat around the bush” comes from hunting small animals and birds that hide in bushes and the hunters, rather than go into the bushes to capture them, would beat on the outer edges of the bushes to chase the animals out. Takes a little longer.
