It is NOT confirmed that ahsoka takes place between season 2 and 3 of the mandalorian.

In fact its actually confirmed it takes place AFTER season 3 of the mandalorian as Carson talks about Gideons attack on mandalor which happened at the end of season 3 of the Mandalorian.

Possibly, however he could just be reaching out to the purgils, also the purgils are moving to a different galaxy, not where Mando would be going

It doesn't happen between season 2 and 3 of Mando. In Episode 7 of Ahsoka, Carson mentions the conflict on Mandalore which takes place at the end of season 3.

Oh Stop! Grogu was afraid of the Purrgils, he jumped down from his seat and tucked himself under Din's arm where he felt safe.
If he sensed Ahsoka he wouldn't have been afraid.
