Honestly I'm glad they're upgrading hardware rather than creating a different console altogether. Older switches means lower barrier to entry and more people experiencing fun games. If you wanna upgrade you can but hopefully it's not necessary for most games.

Technically speaking I’m pretty sure the Switch 2 won’t be emulating Switch games, but will actually be natively running them since it’s probably going to be an upgraded Switch. But that’s being very technical, excited for your coverage of this weird little sequel console

I’d definitely jump on that OLED upgrade. I play 100% in handheld mode and have seen how terrible it is with a normal LED Switch. I really didn’t mind paying the extra $50 to have that comfort when the OLED Switch came out.

considering how good the OLED screen from SWITCH OLED was it's really underwhelming to go back to LCD, even if it was mini LED (which I doubt) it just can't compete against OLED, and Nintendo just want to make a lazy mid gen upgrade with SWITCH 2 OLED

The fact they're making it backwards compatible (presumably) makes me actually want to buy it vs just getting the new console in hopes the games are good. Worse case scenario, I have a better performing switch.

also possibly they went on emulators like that cuz the sw2 will use the same rom formats and it will be easy to make an sw2 emulator off an sw1 emulator

I fear this will be another case of the Wii U, where parents won't purchase this because it looks like a newer version of the switch, and not a new switch all together.
