My dad was a snap-on dealer in the 80’s, before I was born, and he built up a shop’s worth of snap-on ratchets and wrenches and sockets, etc. He then spent another 15 years as a pro mechanic. Over 30 years later we’re still using them at the home shop.

The back drag is something i have never thought about and at the same time brings so much frustration when you have your arm snaked through an engine bay trying to get a bolt to tighten down or loosen and it keep spinning with the ratchet both ways.
