This is a variant on the Hare's Ear pattern. I'm calling it the 2.0, though there are enough variants that I'm sure this could be version 15.0.

Begin with a Killer Caddis, copper glass bead on your hook. I add a little lead wire behind the bead to give it a little extra weight. Back at the hook bend, add a small ball of Hare's Ear - light tan - dubbing. This will help keep your tails split. For the tails, use two tan goose biots. Tie one on either side of the hook, extending about a quarter of the length of the hook behind the hook bend.

Add a piece of small gold wire for your ribbing. Now add more dubbing to create your abdomen in the same color as you used to make the dubbing ball. Dub up to the lead wire wraps, leaving space for your thorax. Take your gold wire and make open spiral wraps up to where you ended the abdomen dubbing. Secure the wire and break it off.

For the wing case, use brown ScudBack - keeping it centered on top of the hook shank. Once secure, dub your abdomen with Hare dubbing in a darker brown color than used for the abdomen. Leave about a hook eye and a half behind the bead to add the legs. The legs are Hungarian partridge. Tie them in behind the bead so one set of legs are on either side of the hook shank. Finally, pull the ScudBack over the top center of the fly, tying it off right behind the bead. It will help keep the legs separated and aimed back. Trim off the remaining ScudBack, whip finish and your fly is ready to fish.
