These always kill it for me, I never leave home without Traditional, Guide's Choice, Soft Hackle, and Flashback Hare's Ear nymphs. Probably my favorite fly. Sometimes I gink unweighted soft hackles and fish them in the film. Any variation, they never let me down.

Hi Davie, thanks for the reminder, I have to tie some of these in different patterns for our February run of Brown trout as they run up to their spawning grounds. The naturals work well in the early runs before we switch to egg patterns. I have found that I loose less flies when I tie them on the barbless jig hooks. These flies seem to work in so many variances and are really worth filling up your fly box. Cheers mate. Harera

Heard grayling like light blue. So I'll try this pattern with light blue thread as well. Thanks for this video too.

Definitely tying this one thanks Davie. I'm on the upper Clyde this week and I'll let you know how it goes. Cheers, Big Davie

Hello, pretty little nymph but I wonder if fishing with a jig is still fly fishing! Have a nice Sunday.

Hi Davie lonely little one! Do you think this type of fly would work on still waters? I was just thinking i bet no one uses them and on a day when the normal nymphs, buzzers and big ugly ones are not working then a something out of the norm may? Have you ever tried on a still water large or small?
