Crazy how much I changed after I started questioning everything about health. Reading Rethinking Health Secrets made me realize how much we’re NOT told.

As somebody else said, the longer it takes to adapt, the more it was needed!

That’s important to know that it’s not specific to just carnivore. Thank you Doc!

I’ve actually had diarrhea my entire life Everything sent me running to the bathroom. Once I got fat adapted on carnivore, the diarrhea was no more. Amazing

I had stomach issues frequently for the first three months, then it started easing up. Of course I was more on keto then. I don’t have any problems now unless I overdo it on a cheat meal once in a while. Been carnivore/keto for two years and it’s been a life changer.

Wild that I'm seeing this AS SOON as I was about to look a video for it after sitting in the bathroom stall at work for a while 😅

Thank you so much for answering this question for me! When I changed to a healthier protein and vitamin rich diet, I could not stop going to the toilet. Now, it all makes sense. Thanks again!

It doesnt go away. Each time i eat beef on its own for example (pork not so bad) it can start before ive finished the meal. Im not 100% sure but it appears to be as i go into ketosis and def when i break a fast. I dont have a gall bladder. Finally found one single video that describes how, even though the liver makes bile in replacement, theres not enough bile (finite amount, once its used its gone so too acidic for your tissues and floods in water) and guides you on how to take bile supplements properly eg 1 hr after eating. I was so ill after eating my fab rib of beef for a few days. So im trying again (3 years on and off now) taking digestive enzymes to support for the moment. The other interesting thing i found was from E O nutrition who talks about a broken R X receptor in the liver causing a cycle of inflammation and he recommends certain things to fix it. He described how for some people what stops it is to add in a bit of veg, which i think gellifies so hexwas desribing my issue. Its not a quick fix though. Im guessing all these things take a very long time to repair. At 61, still overweight, belly fat so clearly insulin resistant, ive tried and tried to get the fat off and fix the insulin resistance. I did get my blood glucose down and bp too as well. I want to give up as its long time hard work and theres no joy in food if yr living with that. but im so worried about the health effects of this im persisting again. I thought i would give it a try with something gentler like sardines for a few days and see if it helps and slowly introduce items like, eggs, or kefir/live yoghurt or pork belly ... just take it very gently and expect it to take months at least. So depressing its not more investigated. I would love dr berry to do a deep dive like ive had to do. I dont think he realises that there are a large number of people struggling. One guy i read was persisting with carnivore after 5 years of it ! Bit demotivating ! But have to try again as my bursitis, joints have flared back up so i know the diet was working if only i could make it livable with !!! and obviously my innards are badly inflamed after the awful beef rib experience and remain sensitive anyway. Each episode is very draining and ive got to get on with life. Maybe ill post the two videos here if it will let me once ive dug them back out. (From uk)

In my opinion (all based on personal experience) it all depends on your epithelium (single cell gut layer). It absorbs some amount of chyme. If it's too much it has to release the excess and it's watery if water wasn't reabsorbed in the colon. Fibre, as a mild laxative, has a lot to do speeding the transit making the stool dryer or more watery depending on the type of fibre.
So you got to take care of your epithelium constantly battered by fibre, cellulose, to get the optimal absorption and digestion.

I've been carnivore 3 months and still get it 90% of time. I've played with fat intake etc. I'm starting to think it's all bunk.

I literally had nothing but liquid stools for a full 10 years before going carnivore. That's not an exaggeration. That did get worse on carnivore, at first. But after about 3 months on carnivore I had my first formed bowel movement in a decade.

Well for constipation I found a treatment I ate too much keto dough so here's a great recipe I like to use a pork chop to do this but I guess you could use chicken or any meat or fat. I take a 1 cup or larger measuring cup can I put a quarter tablespoon of ground flaxseed and a half a cup of water I put that in the microwave set it for 1 minute 30 seconds take a skillet and put your meat cook your meat and get your renderings then take a half a tablespoon of coconut flour put it in a measuring cup add a half a cup of Coldwater Stir It Up let it sit open the microwave stir the flex seed set for a minute and 30 seconds again now your coconut flour should start picking up add water or milk until you have a cup stir the coconut flour turn your heat on high with your skillet with the renderings take two or more tablespoons of unsalted butter add it to the renderings add a pinch of sea salt and some already ground black pepper and I'd like to add garlic mix it well and then pour in your coconut mixture been working it with your fork around with the heat up the make sure should start to simmer at this time add your flaxseed turn the heat down adjust so that they make sure it's at a simmer is it simmers the bubbles will start to become bigger and that make sure we'll become thicker pour that over your meat or over some smashed sweet potatoes everything will be velvet in the morning you'll be shocked and your blood sugar will take a little bit of a dip when you eat it fiber has its place if used correctly hell of a lot better than some Metamucil yuck an full of sugar you'll thank me in the morning😊

But it hasn’t gone away. Plus I don’t trust the insurance doctor. I’m 69 and this has been going on for months!

I've been eating fairly strict carnivore for over a year now and I still get diarrhea very often....about an hour after I eat. Some days I do, some days I don't. Actually, more often than not. I can't figure out what triggers it. It gets old, for sure!

I went into carnivore 8 months ago and had diarrhea for almost 7 months and lost weight and was very exhausting ... now I am using digestive enzymes and ox bile hopefully to recover .. it is a little bit better but still have episodes of diarrhea twice or three times daily .. trying to cure crohns disease .. so it is not only two to three weeks !.. and off course due to continous diarrhea for months it will cause hemorroids and other problems with electrolyte imbalance... please with all due respect, when you talk about carnivore you must include the side effects and their management... thank you

100% true, 2 years ago when I went strict keto from a high sugar/carb lifestyle I had diarrhea for almost two weeks but went away and now have perfectly normal bowel movements which on my high carb lifestyle I did not
