Caner I´m ATPL student and one of my instructors works in Ryanair, Riyadh human resources call him and offered 19000 month without taxes at first officer position. And as you say, he would only consider it if he gets a commuting pattern, he is hearing something about 15 days working and 15 days offing the future, but at the moment it is not known.

Also this video left me reflecting deeply, especially as an Iranian and a Persian individual who resides in the West and works as a pilot for a US airline.

Observing the progress Saudi Arabia is making in aviation is promising, yet it's hard not to feel a profound sadness. Looking back, Iran was a country that set benchmarks globally over 60 years ago. It's disheartening to see the contrast with countries like the Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and Turkey. At that time, they hardly had proper airports, whereas Iran stood as a developed nation.

The video is commendable, and I genuinely hope for Riyadh Air's success. However, it's impossible not to feel a deep sadness when considering the trajectory Iran had and how political decisions led to the current state. What a great country we had.

Best regards,

A friend of a friend works at Emirates, he was offered a >$38k monthly plus many other benefits such as >$26k educational and accommodation if he joined Riyadh air and moved to Riyadh. I can't confirm this, because I can't imagine how possible they can make any profit paying such salaries.

RIA won't make any of its claims(they will have a hard time in their 1st 10 years and might end up merging with Saudia), they indeed have 30 billion, to throw away, and the CEO is there for his retirement ( with a monthly 3 million SR ++ package), with only 5 years of experience with Etihad and NO success record at all, he never managed an airline before Etihad 🤔🤔🤔

Hi Caner, very nice video. I was captivated by your documentary on Riyadh Air, showcasing Saudi Arabia’s aspirations in aviation. It’s an exciting venture for them.

However, it brought to mind the remarkable aviation history of Iran. Over 60 years ago, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi initiated the Iranian airline, setting global standards for safety and luxury. It’s disheartening to consider how political changes altered Iran’s trajectory, leaving it under sanctions.

While I wish Riyadh Air success, it underscores the advanced progress of Iran and its people. It’s a reminder that the Iranian and Persian culture was ahead, and it’s sad to reflect on the interference that altered Iran’s trajectory.

Best regards

whilst soccer players and golfers are happy to go to KSA for top dollar ... i wonder how hard it will be for Riyadh Air to attract large numbers of pilots for normal salaries ... when we keep hearing about the shortage of pilots.
