My dad was a pilot for TWA and I've always admired his position in the cockpit. He loved it and took care of the whole plane and people on it on his own life every time he flew it.

In this comment section is a lot of trash.

1. Pilots don't need a manual for 90% of the buttons.
The layout makes sense after you understand the basics of a plane which makes the Buttons self explanatory.

2. The autopilot doesn't do everything.
It only fly's from selected waypoints that got entered by the pilot to the next ones. Also, VNav is a function, which helps to descend in a pre defined pattern. With ILS guidance it can land the plane, pilots aren't legally allowed to do that outside of training and low visibility situations.

3. The belt is saving you, I turbolence occur during cruise and someone is not strapped in, they may bump their head at the overhead bins or hurt others.

4. There are not too many buttons.
